If you have not received your password within five minutes of registering, contact us at technews@iit.edu. Include any materials you're having trouble submitting. The sooner you contact us, the better the chance is that we can get your article in the paper.
PLAGIARISM POLICY
TechNews will not publish any material deemed to be plagiarized from another source. If you submit any article containing a significant amount of material written by someone else, your article will not be published and you may be banned from submitting to TechNews in the future. Not sure whether or not your article is plagiarism? Ask us.
INTERVIEW POLICY
TechNews does not accept for publication extended interviews of any person conducted without the express written consent of the appropriate Section Editor, Content Manager, or Editor In Chief. If you intend to obtain an interview, attend an event, or otherwise perform a function that you would not otherwise be able to perform by claiming association with TechNews, you MUST get prior permission. For a writer to be paid for their work, the article must be at least 300 words in length.
If you have written an article for TechNews and your work has been published, please follow the directions below in order to be compensated.
If you are an international student
- Follow the link and fill out the first column of the payment authorizationform along with the signature at the bottom.
- Please provide your Banner ID in the CWID section of the payment authorization form.
- Send a scanned copy to technews@iit.edu or drop off the payment authorization forms in the TechNews Office or at the TechNews mailbox in the Student Affairs office.
- After the paperwork is processed, you should be able to view a TechNews timesheet under your work tab in your MyIIT account. This means that your paperwork has been processed and you can get paid.
- Bi-weekly, a paysheet needs to be filled out by the writers detailing the articles written in every issue and how much they should be paid for. A copy of that can be found here.
- After the paysheet has been verified, the timesheet is sent towards payroll.
If you are a domestic student

If you have an active timesheet for TechNews in MyIIT
Your article pay spreadsheets are due at the end of every by-weekly cycle. Permission to extend this deadline is given on an individual basis by the business manager or Vickie Tolbert and writers need to get approval before the deadline. A copy of the bi-weekly payroll chart can be found at here
